How does the process work?

Our software masks the photos in a few different color patterns to make the best results.After the images are loaded into the software, PT3DM automatically masks all the photos (sorting the object from the background) with a single mouse click. If the contrast between background and foreground is not good (e.g. you didn’t use a backdrop) then you need to manually mask between 5 and 10 “key” shots. Our new masking wizard leads through this process using the new “magic marker” tool.

A powerful set of manual and semi-automatic masking tools is also available.

Once the photos are loaded and masked the model can be created by pressing the “START” button…

To generate more accurate geometry a projected line pattern can be used. The line pattern is used with the software as a slider for a standard digital projector. For each position the object requires two vertically views of the object illuminated by the projector.
